Doctors Surgery

Our local doctors' surgery is at Long Clawson. There has been a doctor practising in Long Clawson for nearly 200 years. There is a team of doctors, district nurses, chiropodists, midwives and psychiatric nurses:

There is a volunteer transport system operating, and so if you cannot get to the surgery then telephone Old Dalby post office (822240) and Mrs Watson will tell you who is on call that week. A car will then come and pick you up. This is a free service.

The doctors and nurses are available to take telephone calls after morning surgery (11:30-12:30). This can be to give advice, discuss test results, follow up certain problems or do simple medication reviews, a telephone call may save you a visit to the surgery. Or to book an appointment, please call teh surgery on the above number.
 
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered at the dispensary, by telephone or preferably by returning the computer slip attached to your previous prescription indicating the items required. Please remember that only the items listed can be requested, if you require any other medication then you must contact the doctor. Prescriptions will be ready for collection 48 hours after they have been requested.
When the Surgery is closed

One of the doctors is on call from 08:00am – 6:30pm every weekday. If you require medical treatment outside the surgery opening times please telephone Leicester Communications Centre on 0845 045 0411, who will arrange for your problem to be dealt with in the most appropriate manner.

Home Visits
If you require a home visit please telephone the surgery before 10:30 am, please give the receptionist some idea of the type of problem and the urgency. These details will be passed onto the doctor and they will make arrangements to come and visit you.
